The book, "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft" by Stephen King has been on my nightstand for the last year, and I finally got around to reading it on my recent summer vacation. What took me so long?

This is a book for everyone and anyone. I'm convinced, writing (and thus communicating) is the most important aspect of any job or relationship, whether personal or professional. This is equal parts memoir and teaching, and it provides a glimpse into the basic tools and processes for the craft of writing. I'm sure this will be a book I refer to again and again.
