Why I recommend it

This is a useful book about building an organization where original work can survive uncertainty. Catmull connects creative output to the less visible work of leadership: candor, trust, feedback, and the willingness to keep repairing the system.

What stayed with me

I think often about the book’s framing of failure as a direct consequence of doing something new. It moves failure away from moral judgment and toward the quality of the attempt and what the team learns next.

Who it’s useful for

Leaders of creative and product teams, founders shaping a culture, and anyone trying to make honest feedback safer and more useful.

A tension or limitation

Pixar’s story is inspiring, but its practices are not a recipe that transfers untouched into every organization. The deeper value is in the questions behind them.
