Orbital
Why I recommend it
This is a brief, beautiful novel that makes the familiar Earth strange through the view of six people orbiting it. Harvey holds scientific observation, daily routine, and planetary wonder together.
What stayed with me
Distance changes scale. Borders disappear while storms, light, and human vulnerability become more visible, which made me think differently about how perspective alters responsibility.
Who it’s useful for
Readers who enjoy meditative fiction, space, ecology, and books more interested in perception than plot.
A tension or limitation
Its contemplative structure may feel slight to readers looking for narrative momentum. The circling quality is the experience, not a path toward a dramatic conclusion.
