This Is Happiness

Why I recommend it

Williams tells a warm, unhurried story of change coming to a small Irish village. The weather, conversations, and memories have room to breathe.

What stayed with me

A community can gain something and lose something as it changes. Sometimes we recognize happiness most clearly looking back.

Who it’s useful for

Readers who enjoy a strong storytelling voice and a slow-moving novel.

A tension or limitation

The nostalgia can soften the hardships of the past. Keep that in mind alongside the charm.
