This offers an alternative to treating difficult decisions as a contest between two inadequate options. Integrative thinking asks what is valuable in each position and whether a better choice can be designed.
What it changed in my thinking
It reinforced my instinct to stay with a productive tension longer. A forced compromise can hide the assumptions that, once questioned, make a more creative answer possible.

Not every conflict has a clever synthesis. Time, power, and real incompatibilities sometimes require a clear choice rather than another round of reframing.
